When I load Expert settings from a file sometimes I cannot see cell names in dialogs.
I generated some layers in Expert by DRC script run, and after that, derived layers can not be cleaned by "Tools\Derived Layers\Clean Derived Layers\ Whole Project", otherwise, derived layers generated by Maverick can be cleaned this way. How can I clean them all?
We have lots of cells that become off-grid when we do cut-and-paste from other cells. We tried to use the "Tools->Snap Selected to Grid" command, but the cell doesn't get moved at all. How does Snap to grid works for Instances ? Does it work for Instances?
How do I fix off-grid geometry? How snap to gird works for polygons?
After I create my round curve and run a DRC check on my design, it comes up with hundreds of errors associated with curves. For example, I have the layer named Isolation in the shape of a rectangle with rounded corners; the curves have been designed such that the outer and inner curves are concentric. The DRC then needs to check that the width of the feature is not less than 10um all the way around (shown in Figure 1). After the DRC script is run, it finds errors around the curves as the curves are approximated with straight lines (shown Figure 2). How can I solve this problem?
When distance between two objects is less than minimum gap, the filler box is created if its sizes are more than minimum width for this layer. (Compass, Synthesis, p. 16) How can we do this in Expert?
A simple way to add custom commands to Expert's menu is implemented. Is it possible to add menu items that execute xi-commands or procedures?
If I try to close a project, Expert gives me a prompt: ?Save changes in a project?,? but I remember that I didn?t do any editing of cells. What can be the reason?
We?ve installed all CELEBRITY products and wished to try cross-probing between Expert and Guardian, but it was hard to find necessary options to switch this functionality on. Can you give us a clue?
To simplify the netlist extraction, I specify one kind of diffusion resistors in my layout by means of a special resistor layer. To my surprise, the extracted value for one such resistor is always exactly twice the value I expected, no matter how I stretch this resistor. Why? Other resistors (of the same type) are extracted by Maverick exactly as expected. Moreover, in my previous version of technology, which defined diffusion resistors by means of intricate DRC operations, all value were good.
Are there any means to compare two layouts in Expert?
After upgrading Expert to a new version, I keep receiving messages, such as: ?Polygonal font file??C:\Silvaco\lib\expert\3.0.9.R\x86-NT\polgfont.gds not found. Please update your settings.? How can I get rid of them once and for all?
I tried to resize shapes using the DRC command and observed thin ?cracks? appeared for polygons with holes. At the same time, Expert?s ?resixed selected? command does not create such cracks. How can I achieve this?
I set up the DRC Guard with the DRC script converted from a Dracula command file for TCMS 0.25um process supplied by foundry. I started drawing and it seems that DRC Guard does not catch any violations. Why?
How can I cut exactly the same hole in many layers?
How can I draw exactly the same object in several layers?
How do I extend a wire one segment beyond the endpoint, when your "modify" command can add new points only between the existing ones and "Stretch" cannot do this either?
How can I copy and paste images of my layout from Expert into internal documents?
While doing some disk cleaning, I may have deleted some files by mistake. When I attempt to start EXPERT, I get the error message: > Line 6: Variable ,FALSE% is not defined. What does this mean?
I want to draw several long wires with precise positioning of both ends. I am used to doing as follows: zoom to the start position and start drawing; zoom to the whole view; zoom to the end position and finish drawing. Can Expert do something similar: opening two windows, starting drawing in one window and finishing in another one?
I would like to save a definable window while editing a cell. Once you have clicked the command button, you can then define a window by using the mouse and cursor. After the window is defined it asks for a name for the new window. After you have assigned a name the function is completed and the window is saved for recall. To recall use a new command such as "Window Restore", and that saved window would immediately be viewed.
When you are in Single Mode of Selection if you use "select Instances" twice, the first instances selected stay selected.
Can I perform a check for polygons touching by corners using your Savage DRC system?
What does the syntaxs= &L&"->"&a; from one of the Expert script examples mean?
