Simulating Solar Cell Devices Using Silvaco TCAD Tools

Silvaco TCAD offers complete and well integrated simulation software for all aspects of solar cell technology. TCAD modules required for Solar Cell simulation include: S-Pisces, Blaze, Luminous, TFT, Device3D, Luminous3D and TFT3D [1].

The main drawbacks of circuit level simulation are the many assumptions made of the device model. For example the a-Si:H TFT model assumes that the channel is uniform and ignores interface trap effects. For more accurate circuit level simulation, a device numerical modeling approach is attractive and predictive.

Recently, a variety of materials having large non-volatile resistance change have been studied as potential candidates for next generation non-volatile memory devices.
