Congressman Mike Honda Tours Silvaco R&D LabsSanta Clara CA, August 22, 2003 To better understand the critical technology used by engineers to design leading edge integrated circuits, Congressman Mike Honda (D-CA) today toured the R&D facilities of Silvaco International. Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000 for the 15th District of California, Mike serves on the House Committee of Science. As a congressman for Silicon Valley, Mike is taking a leading role in bringing Democrats and Republicans together to better understand technology issues. In this vein, Mike has formed a bi-partisan Wireless Task Force to enable Congress to better understand and support innovative technologies for next generation wireless deployment. In Mike’s previous career as an educator, he was a science teacher, served as principle at two public schools and conducted research at Stanford University. Mike was awarded "High-Tech Legislator of the Year" by the American Electronics Association for his strong advocacy for the high-tech economy. Silvaco provides the critical technology to design electronics that enable the Information Age, including: communications, computers, space technology, medical and industrial equipment, and consumer electronics.
