Silvaco Donates $2.4M of EDA Software to University of WashingtonSanta Clara, July 9, 2003 Silvaco International, a leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA) tools, today donated $2.4 million of software to the University of Washington College of Engineering to create a intellectual hub for advanced technology computer aided design (TCAD) research and development. The donated software simulates the behavior of semiconductor processes and devices using 3D field solvers to solve complex physics equations. The college of engineering faculty and graduate students will use this software to model reliability and performance of semiconductors as part of a joint development project between the University and Silvaco launched on May 19, 2003. “The University of Washington is one of the premier academic institutions in the country and we are very pleased to further our relationship with them. The University of Washington has the ideal blend of outstanding students and faculty, research programs, and academic excellence,” said Dr. Ivan Pesic, CEO and founder of Silvaco. “This donation will enable the university
to extend its leadership role in cooperating with industry innovators
to perform advanced semiconductor physics research,” said Dr.
Denice Denton, dean of the college of engineering. About Silvaco For more information please contact: Silvaco |
